He had no shortage of fishing stories and pictures to share with any available audience. He was active in his community, serving on the CBISD Education Foundation, serving as chaplain for the CBISD high school football team and serving as the chaplain for Sweeny high school baseball team. He was most passionate about spreading the good news about Jesus. Serving as the volunteer youth pastor from his college days eventually led to being the senior pastor at Brazoria First Assembly.

The Jerusalem Prayer Team with Dr. Michael D. Evans exists to build Friends of Zion to guard defend and protect the Jewish people and to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
