On Monday, the U.S. observed Memorial Day. We honor the memory of all those who fell while defending our country & lift their families up in prayer. May we thank God for the principles of freedom we continue to fight for across the world today. “The name of the righteous is used in blessings” (Proverbs 10:7).
As the Holy Land celebrated the giving of the Torah & what it teaches us, we pray for the safety & wellbeing of these vulnerable & elderly Jews who otherwise would’ve spent this holiday alone. “There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your fellow Israelites who are poor & needy in your land” (Deut 15:11).By now, Israel & her people are no stranger to uncertainty. Day & night, Israelis prepare for the worst while praying for the best – we join them in prayer for their safety & protection, even as we pray for all U.S. servicemen who put themselves in harm’s way. “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest ps 91
