I know You from Your world, and from Your Torah. You destroyed everything but Noah’s household when you regretted the vicious world You had made. You killed Lot’s wife for remembering her city as You burned it. You glorified Moses, who lay in wait to murder. You hardened Pharaoh’s heart to justify killing Egypt’s first-born. Time after time You proclaimed, I do this so you know how mighty I am. How can I find You righteous and good, trust and love You, or even fear and obey You, since You haven’t spoken in a hundred generations?
