There are so many enemies of Israel active in our world today. We see terrorists wearing masks and carrying guns on their way to launch attacks—it is no coincidence that the main focus of the Paris attacks was a concert hall that had been owned by Jewish people. We see world leaders launch economic war on Israel by supporting trade sanctions and boycotts. We see media figures repeating lies about the nation of Israel.
While the horrors of the terrorist attacks in Paris remain freshly etched on our minds, the people of Israel are still facing an onslaught of brutal assaults—simply for existing.
Yesterday, five people were killed, including two Israelis, and at least six others injured in two separate terrorist attacks. Three of the five deceased, including a young Jewish-American man, were shot to death when the assailant began shooting at an Israeli vehicle using an Uzi sub-machine gun. The perpetrators behind both attacks were caught by security forces are in police custody.
According to an article in The Times of Israel, Prime Minister Netanyahu condemned the attacks and vowed to be unrelenting in pursuit of justice against the terrorists. “There is no immunity for terrorists: We will hold them to account, we will exact a price from their families, we will destroy their homes, and we will cancel their citizenship," Netanyahu said.
We, too, must take a stand for what is right. This is our moment, our “such a time as this” when we must do our part to support and defend God's Chosen People against the enemies that surround them on every side.
