I love the precious promises of God, and this is one of my favorites! In Psalm 133:3 it says, "As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore."
When we agree with the things in God's heart—when we bless what God wants to bless—He releases His abundance into our lives. Notice this very, very carefully. This is not just "a" blessing, but "the" blessing. Throughout Scripture, we see people talk about God as "the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob." They used that phrase because they wanted the same blessing that those patriarchs had. That blessing—the one that touches every part of life and future generations, the one that sees the promises of God fulfilled through faith—is the blessing God offers to you today.
In Zechariah 4, God reveals his message of blessing through an angel to Zerubbabel, governor of the Persian Province of Yehud Medinata. The angel tells Zerubbabel that it isn’t “‘by might, nor by power, but by [His] Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty” that Zerubbabel will succeed. He goes on to say, “Therefore no mountain, however high, can stand before Zerubbabel! For it will flatten out before him!” Ultimately, Zerubbabel would be victorious in finishing the building of the temple, expressing his gratitude in “mighty shouts of thanksgiving for God’s mercy.”
I want to encourage you today to speak to your mountain—whether it is physical, financial, spiritual, whether representative of your children or grandchildren—no matter how big it looks. Speak to it in the name of Jesus, and tell it to be cast into the sea! Just like Zerubbabel declaring victory through God’s Holy Spirit, you, too, will be singing the praises of God as you witness His victories in your own life
