A new record was set in Germany in one month in August 2015: The number of emigrants from Syria reached 104,460. It brought a yearly total of 415, 535 immigrants seeking political asylum in a European country. By the end of the year, that total could reach approximately 800,000 in one country alone. Some pundits believe this is no longer a migrant crisis; it is what is known in Islamic circles as hijrah, or jihad by emigration.

The label comes from Mohammad’s trek to Medina from Mecca. It was that event that transformed the mullah into a key political and military leader. It was during his travels that he purported to have received visions exhorting Mohammad to launch a jihad against unbelievers, infidels. It is the prophet’s hijrah that pinpoints the beginning of Islam and not his birthday or day of his first revelation.

This could well be a clue as to why other Arab countries have refused to open their doors to vast numbers of people supposedly fleeing Syria for safety reasons. Saudi Arabia, Oman, Dubai, the UAE and other Middle Eastern countries know that rolling out the welcome mat would significantly change the balance in their nations—and not for their betterment. And, it would delay the implementation of hijrah in the West.

Why, then, have European leaders and President Barack Obama done nothing to halt this tide of jihad by emigration? Is it ignorance or fear or acquiescence by silence? The politically correct tell us that to reject the incoming tide of refugees is not a Christian response or is racist. What they fail to understand is that the death knell is sounding, and we have become tone deaf to the danger.

According to the Quran (4:100), “And whoever emigrates for the cause of Allah will find on the earth many locations and abundance, and whoever leaves his home as an emigrant to Allah and His Messenger and then death overtakes him, his reward has already become incumbent upon Allah.” This is an act of the highest distinction, and equals death as a martyr.

IS has released a document touting this practice in order to take over Libya. That country is a gateway into Europe, a veritable golden highway for jihadists, and one that can be easily reached with only marginal jeopardy. It has already been noted that jihadis had been embedded among those who are truly seeking asylum; but how many are too many? How many men and women bent on the destruction of the West does it take to commit vile acts of terrorism?

This hijrah to Europe began in January. In February the intelligence service in Turkey warned that as many as 3,000 jihadists were poised to cross into that country from Syria and Iraq. From there, they were to disseminate throughout Western Europe. And in May came the warning that IS members were among the boat people arriving on European shores. How many of the young men wading ashore was IS operatives preparing to go undercover until released to commit murder and mayhem?

Several men have been arrested at the Bulgaria/Macedonia border with IS literature and videos of the decapitation of IS captives on their electronic devices. Nigel Farage, UK Independence Party leader offered a warning: “I fear we face a direct threat to our civilization if we allow large numbers of people from that war-torn region into Europe.

The hijrah is in full swing. Will the result be the Islamization of the West through jihad? Or, perhaps it will be as mundane as a community electing a Muslim city council. If you think that couldn’t happen in the United States of America, travel to Hamtramck, Michigan.
